EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, compulsive and panic disorders.
The American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs/Dept. of Defense, The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and the World Health Organization among many other national and international organizations recognize EMDR therapy as an effective treatment.
Rationele
Our mind /bodies have a natural way of healing from traumatic memories and events. This process involves a digestive process that occurs between the limbic ( fight or flight) and the prefrontal cortex (where we make sense).
In some cases the mind body needs a manual overide so that it may gain awareness that it is no longer unsafe or in danger.
KETAMINE THERAPY / Psychedelic Therapy
Coming Soon!!!
Ketamine works to encourages neuronal growth, stimulation, and neural plasticity
by enhancing the operation of multiple brain body pathways including the glutamate pathway, the mTOR pathway, and various receptors participant in addictive/ compulsive and dispositional mind body cycles.
During treatment, patients will experience a dissociative state or disconnect, often resulting in new perspective/ insight, transformational shift, acquisition of purpose, peace, insight, inspiration, gratitude, empathy, and or connection. Patients may also experience visual, auditory, and other sensory effects to support these processes.
Research shows Ketamine and other psychedelics yield very promising and lasting results that often begin to appear within hours of initial treatment, with peak mood elevating at around 24-36 hours post treatment . Research also shows these gains lasting 6mo. and greater with supportive/ pre and post integrative protocols.
Ketamine is the first approved psychedelic treatment approved by the FDA to help relieve depression, anxiety, chronic pain, PTSD, OCD, CRPS and other mental health-related conditions.

I have been a patient of Katie's trauma, addiction, and whatever else comes up during our group sessions. I don't know what I would have done over the last several years without Katie. When I started with Katie I was in a nursing home that I had been in for approximately 6 years she was my rock and my guiding light. I got out of the nursing home and still she's my guiding light. When people think of therapy and counseling they think of someone that is just going to listen pat them on the back and say everything's going to be okay. Not Katie! She helps you figure out why you feel the way you do and how to stop feeling the way you feel through her extensive training. Katie has been my guiding light through my worst times by giving me the tools to work through and understand my trauma and addiction. There are many other people in my groups that are led by Katie that she has helped also through their addictions and trauma. I can't imagine where my life would have led without Katie. I recommend her to anybody that is struggling with any kind of mental health issues, addiction issues trauma, anything that has to do with your mind and body. I would like to say thank you to Katie and Ellie. For the role they have played in my life and how much better my life is because of them! Thank you ❤️. K*****

My journey with Katie B. started about a year ago when my 20 yr. old son attended a 30 day intensive residential treatment program for fentanyl addiction at a Residential Treatment Center. On day 22, my son was removed from the program due to smoking a cigarette butt under the age of 21. (This was against the rules) I was floored and in shock when I found out that they were removing him from the program. Yes, I believe there should have been consequences for his poor choices, but to kick a fentanyl addict out of the program for smoking a cigarette seemed outrageous and completely against their mission. I didn’t feel the punishment fit the crime – especially with the fentanyl pandemic. After speaking with multiple staff and eventually the director, who agreed, that the steps taken should have been different, agreed that she would look into this further.
This is when I received a call From Katie Brydon, the Clinical Supervisor for Serenity. I was desperate for help and desperate to find help for my son. Katie showed empathy, compassion, and understanding. She added my son to her already filled schedule, and provided one on one therapy and substance abuse treatment in order for him to successfully complete the program. During this time, my son was on probation, so completing the program was extremely important. Since then, with Katie’s constant support, my son has been sober for 5 months and is no longer on probation. She has been our guiding light and constant support on next steps. There’s definitely been some difficult trials, but she has been with us throughout the entire process. I cannot tell you how many times this momma has been in tears and called her after hours and she took my call. Or how many times Katie has seen my son last minute, squeezing him in during an emergency. We continue to see Katie once a week – coming all the way from Colorado Springs. Recently, she has suggested EMDR treatment for my son. He and I are both a bit skeptical but plan on looking into this further. Katie is patient and thorough; through her extensive training provides options that she believes will assist with the issues at hand; specifically for his mental health issues, addiction and trauma related struggles. I have never met a therapist that was so dedicated! She never lost hope and she loves her clients; which is apparent with the relationships she’s developed. I truly can’t say enough about her. Thank you, Katie Brydon! C*************
Katie is the only therapist that I’ve actually stuck with, one that actually truly showed empathy, understanding, and honesty whether it be brutal or not. She is so multi-diverse when it comes to her therapy, she will be a listening ear when needed, gives advice on observations, gives opinions earnestly, will straight shoot you on owning and being responsible with your personal issues while helping you obtain the skills and the knowledge to make successful changes in your life.
I underwent EMDR therapy with her as well. EMDR therapy is extremely intense and will bring up emotions and feelings that will cause distress but will provide wonderful outcomes if you actually follow through with the whole treatment. She is a wonderful guide and a voice during this process, and will help de-escalate you before every session ends. Completing EMDR therapy is like coming out of a tunnel you never thought would ever end and seeing sunshine for the first time.
One of the best things in my life was becoming a client of Katie Brydon, I owe her so much thanks and gratitude for all the work we have done together and will continue to do.💜 M******
I have suffered from depression, anxiety, and alcoholism/substance abuse for many, many years. I have also had numerous therapists over a span of over 20 years. Katie Brydon by far is the best therapist I've ever encountered. She actually cares about her patients, which seems lacking in the mental health arena. Like I said, I have been undergoing treatment for over 20 years. Not only has she been key to maintaining my long-term sobriety, but she has been instrumental in many other ways as well. She seemed to instinctively have a lot of insight into my key issues after just a few sessions at the beginning, is always very responsive (which also is very rare in mental health), and she takes the time to go above and beyond to help her patients. I have seen her interactions with others in group sessions as well, and she is consistently, across the board, the utmost professional, knowledgeable, and insightful therapist I have ever had. I can't say enough good things about her. Anyone that has the opportunity to have her as a therapist is vey fortunate indeed.

I came here as a last resort. I was desperate. I just couldn’t go on.
Looking back on it now I didn’t realize the decision I was making
Would change my life in every way imaginable. I was barely functioning. When I walked in this wonderful life saving place. I called in desperation for help and the following day I was seen.
I was first Introduced to Dr Ana. She quickly saw my desperation and began medication treatment Immediately. Her diagnosis of my issues was amazing.Over the last two years my medication has only changed slightly. This is the first time
someone took real interest in me and my mental health.
So now that I’m stable Dr. Ana really wants me to go to therapy.
I was extremely reluctant. I had had one bad experience after another.
Eventually she wore me down and I agreed.
So despite being extremely apprehensive I bought in to the idea of therapy.
That’s when another huge life changing, amazing, person came in to my life, Katie Brydon-Wilson. She was honest with me from the first moment
I got there. She informed me about the entire proses. Most importantly she said that this therapy isn’t a forever thing. It’s designed to get to the very core of the issue and allow you to deal with it in a safe place with someone who truly cares for her patient’s.
I continued to see her once a week for about a year and a half.
It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I had my share of set backs but Katie kept right by my side.
Week after week she guided me threw one issue to the next.
She never lost faith in my recovery or me. This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I drank heavy for 20 years to cover up my issues. With Katie there is no covering up or skipping a problem. She guides you head on to tackle anything and everything.
Saying her help was life changing is a huge understatement. I’m a completely different person because of her. She helped save my relationship with my son and made me the husband my wife married many years ago.
I honestly and happily could talk for days about what Katie means to me.
I’ve been sober now for 17 months. Katie helped give me my life back.
On the day of this post I graduated. I completed all of my goals, I worked through each and every one. Because of Katie i finally found out what loving life and yourself feels like for the first time in 44 years.
The only down side to finishing is not seeing Katie every week.
I will never be able to thank this superwoman enough.
The last thing I want to bring up is the staff. They are incredible as well.
Andrea is one of the most patient, sweetest people I’ve ever met.
Every week I would make an appointment and every week I would forget so every week she would call and remind me. It was a pleasure to see her every week as well.
From the moment you walk in you are cared for.
As I ramble on I hope that anyone who reads this and needs help can see It is completely possible to heal and move on. It’s not easy but the payoff Is immeasurable.
With every ounce of my heart I will love R2R
Dr Ana and Katie Brydon until I take my last breath.
